Las Vegas, NV (July 26th, 2011) – PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, will celebrate its 11th annual fundraising gala, “El Sueño de Esperanza”, hosted by actress Eva Longoria at the newly transformed Tropicana Las Vegas this October 15th.The evening, presented by Farmers Insurance Group, will raise funds to benefit PADRES and the lifesaving work of the organization. More than 600 celebrities and leaders in business, entertainment, and philanthropy are expected to attend the event which will feature gourmet cuisine, premier musical entertainment and an opportunity to participate in additional weekend activities that only Las Vegas has to offer.

“The mission of PADRES Contra el Cáncer is truly inspirational, and we are thrilled to be hosting this year’s gala at Tropicana Las Vegas. We are aware of the huge positive impact PADRES has made in the Latino community, and being the only Latin-owned casino on the Las Vegas Strip, we want to participate in supporting children with cancer and their families,” said Tom McCartney, President and Chief Operating Officer of Tropicana Las Vegas.

In June 2011, PADRES and Tropicana Las Vegas launched a cause-related partnership to promote pediatric cancer awareness and to provide opportunities to raise supplemental program funding. The first initiative under this partnership will include PADRES’ largest fundraising campaign in 2011, A Weekend of Latin Style & Entertainment, highlighting the annual “El Sueño De EsperanzaSM” gala. ‘Premiere Sponsor’ Verizon Wireless and the ‘Official Airline Sponsor’ American Airlines have also teamed up with PADRES as corporate partners in the fight against this devastating disease.
