RENOWNED GRAMMY AWARD WINNER MICHITO SANCHEZ BRINGS “SALSERO” TO TROPICANA LAS VEGAS

Release date: September 14, 2010  /  Print This Print This    RSS RSS

Tropicana Las Vegas will be vibrating with the sounds of Latin beats as DEFTAL presents “SALSERO Saturdays” with Michito Sanchez Salsa Orchestra at Tropicana’s Tiffany Theatre, beginning September 25. Guests can dance to tropical Latin music such as salsa, merengue, cumbia and bachata from 10:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. every Saturday.

“We’re excited to partner with such great entertainers,” said Lee-Ann Groff-Daudet, Vice President of Entertainment for Tropicana Las Vegas. “They are a perfect complement to the hot vibe and sultry rhythm of our all new, South Beach-inspired entertainment programming.”

Michito Sanchez is a Grammy and Latin Grammy winner and nominee who has collaborated with such recording artists as Juanes, Placido Domingo, John Denver and The Rolling Stones. When challenged to create a Latin band that would break the norm in Las Vegas, Sanchez used his 20-year experience as a freelance studio musician in Los Angeles to scout Las Vegas for the best talent. In July 2007, he debuted the band Michito Sanchez Salsa Orchestra, which went on to win “Best Salsa Performer” in the First Annual Las Vegas Latin Music Awards in 2008.

The Michito Sanchez Orchestra is made up of Michito Sanchez, leader; Alex Leon Jr., timbales; Johnny “Dandy” Rodriguez, bongos; Uli Geissendorfer, piano; Puro Vicente, bass; Noybel Gorgoy, singer; Rolando Jose Valdez Iglesias, singer; Chandler Judkins, lead trumpet; Kevin Mullinax, lead trombone; and Steve Meyer, trombone.

Special guest artists will periodically join the orchestra, and once per month The Midnight Mambo Players will make a guest appearance, playing the great "old school" mambo rhythms of the yesteryears.

With Tropicana’s Salsero Dinner and Dancing packages, starting at just $26 per person, it’s the perfect event for a night out on The Las Vegas Strip.
